What is our stability and security built on?
Is it our job? What if that ends up shifting, ending, morphing into something else?
Is it our health? What if we are injured, sick, or otherwise unwell?
Is it our home? What if that changes, and what is familiar- isn’t?
Is it the roles of our friends, our family? What if that expands or decreases? What if your kids go from dependent to independent to married and you go from married to widowed to dating. What if your patterns all change with your friends, too?
Our jobs change, injuries happen, moves occur – even the roles we have in people’s lives shift. But that we are loved, never.
If our stability and security are built on a foundation of love, we can always remember how to love. We can be stable and offer security to others even in the midst of all kinds of uncertainty. We can offer the security of loving as we have been loved.
In the beginning- love.
