Of what benefit is worry or fear when we are threatened or in pain? When a small child falls down and scrapes her knee – even bangs her nose…what makes it better? A hug and a kiss!
Does the skin heal instantly? Is the fat lip avoided? No. But what calms the child? Love and security. To know she is loved. How does a young toddler learn to cross the floor for the first time? With mom or dad’s waiting arms and their eyes locked on Daddy’s (not their feet) as they stretch out their own arms and walk.
There is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out all fear. If we know we are loved, trouble, hardship, rulers and powers can’t separate us from it. We are loved.
