Morning Thoughts

Teeth clenched.

So often I awaken with jaw set in determination, as if I must summon such fierce will to walk this path.

Yet I am not conscious of doing so.

First thoughts?

How is he today? What does he need?

What time is it?

And then I turn to the window

And look at the sky.

I do not walk alone.

So why can't I unclench my jaw?
